Voter Information

The following is basic information about voting in regards to Propositions Y and S.

Q. When is the election?
A. Tuesday, April 6. Polls are open from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.

Q. Who may vote?
A. Any resident of the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District who is a registered voter may vote in this election.

Q. How can I register to vote?
A. If you are not currently registered, the deadline to do so is Wednesday, March 10. Forms and additional information may be obtained from the St. Louis County Board of Election Commission or at any MRH school.

Q. How many ‘yes’ votes are required for these propositions to pass?
A. Proposition Y requires a four-sevenths (57.14%) majority to pass while Proposition S requires a simple majority.

Q. How will the Propositions appear on the ballot?
A. The ballot language will appear as follows:

PROPOSITION Y
Shall the Board of Education of the School District of Maplewood Richmond Heights, St. Louis County, Missouri borrow money in the amount of nine million dollars ($9,000,000) for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, renovating, expanding, improving, furnishing and equipping school sites, buildings and related facilities for school purposes and refinancing outstanding lease obligations and issue general obligation bonds for the payment thereof? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted debt service levy of the school district is estimated to increase $0.09 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation from $1.02 to $1.11 per one hundred dollars assessed valuation of real and personal property.

PROPOSITION S
Shall the Board of Education of the School District of Maplewood Richmond Heights, St. Louis County, Missouri be authorized to increase the operating tax levy of the District by $0.67 per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation for the purpose of paying general operating expenses of the District? If this proposition is approved, the adjusted operating levy of the District per one hundred dollars of assessed valuation is estimated to be $3.7458 for residential real property, $4.0857 for commercial real property and $4.9158 for personal property.
