MRH's Parents as Teachers program serves all families in the district with children ages birth to school age. Being 'served' by the PAT program means a certified early childhood staff member visited the family's home to provide guidance, advice, and instruction about parenting young children. One of the most important elements of early childhood parenting is promoting healthy brain development by making sure your baby has a stimulating, responsive, and non-stressful environment. PAT offers free home visits, developmental screenings, and hosts several activities throughout the school year. Participation in the PAT program is free of charge. If you are parent of a newborn to 5-year-old child and are interested in participating in the Parents as Teacher program, please call (314) 647-4749.
