MRH Early Childhood Center to Host Grand Opening Celebration

The public is invited to attend the grand opening celebration of the MRH Early Childhood Center’s expansion on Wednesday, August 12 from 6:00-7:00p.

The passage of Proposition C in April 2007 gave the district the “green light” to do some much needed work on the schools throughout the district. The final part of the project is the addition to and renovation of the MRH Early Childhood Center. The construction, which began last fall, is nearing completion.

The main part of the project was the addition of six new preschool classrooms and a new library. Additional work included new air conditioning in the school’s gym and updated data wiring. The new wing’s design also includes the creation of a new courtyard entryway to the school.

After having built a new elementary school and having completed the renovations at the high school/middle school, the Early Childhood Center has remained as the last building in the district to be updated.

At the grand opening celebration the new and existing spaces will be open for touring and ice cream will be available for all guests. The celebration will run from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Early Childhood Center, 2801 Oakland Avenue in Maplewood. The event is free and open to the public.
