  Overview
The MRH School District curriculum is designed to provide all students with enduring understanding of content areas such as language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. Every student also receives instruction in art, music, technology, health and physical education, and library skills. While curriculum gives a guide for educators, MRH teachers and staff are committed to providing high quality instruction and individualized programs.

MRH subscribes to the philosophy that students learn more when they have strong relationships with their teachers. In an effort to foster student teacher connections, all MRH students from kindergarten through 8th grade, except 6th grade, spend two years with the same instructor through multiage or looping class structures.

In MRH's 2001 Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP), community members, parents, teachers, and district staff developed a district goal to create a curriculum development process that calls for continual assessment and improvement of all curricula. The Assistant Superintendent will coordinate the development of this process. Teachers and parents will be instrumental in the research, evaluation, and implementation of new curriculum.

Gifted and English as a Second Language classes are also provided to qualifying students across all grade levels.

The ESOL program is designed for students to receive help with learning English immediately upon arrival to MRH. The program offers intensive instruction to students whose first language is not English. Students learn to understand, speak, read, and write English and learn a new culture. The learning environment is supportive and non-threatening and allows students to learn English quickly and make necessary academic and social adjustments.
