As schools and districts focus on student learning and achievement, using data from a variety of sources can help staff to identify strengths and issues to be addresses as they plan curriculum and instruction. Evaluating student achievement is like working with a puzzle. There are numerous small pieces of evidence that, when put together, complete a picture. The puzzle pieces include standardized assessment, classroom assessments, and program evaluation. Data gathered from standardized assessment present valuable information regarding the achievement of MRH students, but should not be considered as the sole measure of success.
The MRH Assessment Report focuses on interpretation of data gathered using standardized tests: the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP), CTB McGraw-Hill Multiple Assessments (CTB MA; sometimes referred to as the Terra Nova), and the American College Test (ACT).
